The joint issue between France and Sweden honors the Opera Garnier in Paris Opera and Stockholm. 

 Gustav III, King of Sweden from 1771 to 1792, great Francophile, whom Louis XVI gave the island of Saint-Barthélemy (retroceded to France in 1878 and attached to Guadeloupe where she became a municipality in 1946) was assassinated in 1792.

 An opera named "Masked Ball" opera traces and depicts the last hours of Gustave III, was created by Daniel Auber. The first stamp shows a portrait of Daniel Auber, the second stamp evokes the ballet.

The bottom block, meanwhile, shows the staircase of the Opera Garnier.
